Kubbar Island

Danielle told me to do it.
This weekend, some co-workers and I signed up for an Internations trip to Kubbar Island out in the Arabian Gulf (heaven forbid we call Persian Gulf). They provided the food, drinks, and of course... the boat. The trip lasted from sun up to sun down.It took around three hours to get there and again, three hours back. Many of us mingled and napped on the way there. We had a couple hours to explore, tan, and swim once on the island. Then, we ate and had a dance party on the way back. Too back I got either sea sick (or had a low something? according to a doctor on board) and had a rather miserable experience back to Kuwait City. Overall, it was a fun day meeting new people and seeing new places.

Early in the morning at the docks.

Andrew & Danielle.
And Winter!
Spending time with Mohammed and Nick.

Boat #2 to the island.
Andrew's so excited! He even bought sassy new swim trunks.

View from the shore.

Not much to the island. Just some towers and weeds.
Taking a walk around the island.
The water felt pretty great!

Once finished on the island, we were taking the small boat back to the large one, and the waves were trying to sink our little boat... they had to quickly use a pail to scoop the water out. The waves kept rocking both boats which made it quite scary getting from one to the other.
We had a long day of meeting new people, swimming, walking, eating, getting sea sick... etc.
Thanks for the fun trip everyone!
A lit up city welcoming us back.
Long, but fun day!
